PC WORLD Liverpool [Liverpool]

£2000 »16/02/2010Total claims: 1
Comments: 0
I urge all computer buyers in Liverpool to block PC World as they are a disgrace to the retail section.I had purchased a new imac 27" and I had to install my software costing over £5000 for design and took nearly a week to complete after which I noticed lines appearing with black outs so I contacted Apple and they said to take it back to PC World as their were faults with this new imac 27", and to remove all my software, this I done and took me nearly a week to configure. Then they contacted me on the day I was due to take it back to the store and said they have an update to solve the problem now. This by now has cost me down time with my customers nearly £2000 loss of income. Now I have to reinstall all my software again and this takes time as well.I was contacted by PC World customer services at 3.15pm Monday 15th February 2010 and was told by the service they can't do any thing it's not there problem? What ever happened to real customer service. They have cost me down time because this issue with screen blackout has been around since November 2009 and they never said oh by the way theirs no update for the problems with these imacs but buy them anyway and lets hope they find one!
My advise to people in the market for a new PC Don't buy one from PC World Aintree, as once you do and have a problem customer service is as bad as having the flu and going swimming? Don't buy from PC World Aintree.Over the last five years I have spent nearly £30,000 with PC World and all my business computers are tobe renewed this year I informed the customer service lady and she said it's up to me to take my business else where. That's gratitude for you being a loyal customer for a long time. Now I intend to do my business with someone else in future and PC World now can swivel.

zoostorm

electrical fault »24/01/2010Total claims: 1
Comments: 0
Bought a zoostorm pc that was fine at first. After 5 months it failed to start - clearly an electrical fault as nothing happened when you pressed the 'on' button. Was picked up for repair and delivered back with no further communication from company or repair details when returned.

When I turned on the pc I found that all data on it had been wiped, including hundreds of pounds of software/anti-virus programmes, all my accounts and my wife's teaching plans. Called Zoostorm. When pushed they admitted it was a simple electrical fault but that it was 'company procedure' to wipe all data and I 'should have been informed of this.' All they could say was sorry.

So...

Product quality - appalling if you get an electrical fault after just a few months

Customer service - shocking - no point in telling me 'I should have been informed' and why didn't they start with the electrics which all the evidence pointed to. ANd why didn't they back up the data?

Attitude - disgusting. Tried to pass the buck back to ebuyer through whom I bought the pc despite their being responisble for the error.

3 mobile

Loss of internet service within the Croydon area for 6 weeks »07/12/2009Total claims: 2
Comments: 0

I am currently mid-house move awaiting the completion of building works to the final property.

We thought it would be a good idea to purchase an independent mobile 3-connect dongle pre-paid

for 400 hours internet usage,to ensure that I could be contacted for work purposes ( I am a Building

Surveyor) from early March we lost the internet completely, I travelled into Croydon to talk to the staff in the 3-connect stores to check the status of the problem, and have been brushed off every week with a different story regarding it 's return to service.

I am at my wits end and having to spend a fortune in Internet Cafes.

Other people judging by overheard converstions in the stores are equally furious I want full compensation for the cost of the dongle, plus my time and costs of using these cafes.

and an apology from the Company's management for their complete inability to properly contact customer's with the true position of the lost service.

Yours Sincerely

Marlyn Wilson

1st Access Ltd.com [London]

Bullies and False advertisers »06/12/2009Total claims: 1
Comments: 1
My Dad called 1st Access after seeing them in the Yellow Pages.

They turned up and pressurised him into signing a contract before even looking at the problem. Once he signed it, the electrician started saying that he needed to get the parts and would be gone for hours, during which he would still be expected to be paid. My Dad told him to get out, at which the electrician turned nasty and said that they would sue him. They didn't even give my Dad a copy of the contract.

Now they are sending letters for outstanding payments, and threatening to send bailiffs. After calling them, they said that even though no job was done they still charge, even thought heir advert says ‘No call out fee'.

My Dad has since paid, afraid of the bayliffs but I've thrown out all Yeloow pages/ Thompson local directories as they obviously don't vett their listings.

Having done some research, this is something 1st Access have been reprimanded about before - looks like they're still up to their old tricks.

Stay away from this company - they are dishonest and bullies.

3 mobile

Dis-Honest, bad coverage and bad customer service! »18/11/2009Total claims: 2

My partner had a 3 mobile, he took the contract out as it was offering the best package for this particular phone (Nokia Slide 6500). The contract was taken out with Phones 4 u - MISTAKE. They are also misleading and added insurance on for my phone even when i sed no and then when complained they said i couldnt do anything. Having only had the contract with 3 for a few months, his phone was faulty he sent it off and paid £30 for repairs. It came back and it worked for a week then broke again. Basically they fobbed him off saying it was a sim card problems, his fault etc. After weeks complaining he was offered a Nokia 3120. Check it out yourself. As shocked as i was, i rejected but then agreed as i was paying for a contract which i wasnt using. The coverage wasnt any better on this phone they kept saying it was the handset then they were doing repairs in the area. I checked the spec and price of the phone i wanted and the phone they eventually replaced its with. I rand and said how disgusted i was regarding this and they blamed Nokia and said they supplied the phone. Not only this i was had problems which are consistent bad coverage, sim card failure and faulty handsets. All in all i would say i have rang 3 over 100times. I have been cut off no end of times, i have been told someone would ring me back and they havent. I got a company called ofcom and otello involved and this really helped, because it had been going on so long i had to give 3 one more chance. After over 1 hour and half on the phone, i got some sense out of the 3 representive. He said the signal should be good all around my area, he said it will be better outside, i said i live in britain i am not going outside everytime i want to send/ receive texts and phone calls. He told me to give me postcodes of where i get poor signal and i said everywhere and was he having a laugh. Eventually got told complaints department were dealing with it and would ring me back in 48hours. Having had NO signal i had a voicemail telling me to ring them back it was a 0870 number so was getting charged yet AGAIN. Having been told there is nothing they can do and various other lies, ive taken it one step further and they have said they will cancel my contract free of charge due to all problems (This was after constantly ringing and complaining) I was told to send my phone back and they would cancel it but yet again, i have heard nothing. If this stops one person from going with 3 mobile, it has been worth it. PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY AS GOOD AS THERE DEALS LOOK GOOD. CUSTOMER SERVICE IS NONE EXISTANT AND WILL TAKE YEARS TOO SORT OUT!

Ordered DVD's from this company and were not only overcharged but where charged twice. These items never arrived. Was also entered into a subscription. By the time you have realised it you have been charged several times for the items and the subscription. Altho they say it was in the terms and conditions which is true, they broke there contract by not sending the items. This makes the contract void. I have asked for a refund and postal and delivery documents but the company is now silent. This is a well thought out and organised con.

Just to say I have now had a questionnaire sent to me from trading standards in Bury. I have telephoned them but they are very reluctant to give out any information. They said they know who "sorrocco" are and are arranging a meeting with them to establish what has gone wrong. It may help if you contact Bury Trading standards to register who you are. Their telephone number is 0161 253 6653 (miss pratt) or 0161 253 5069 (miss close).
