| 163 | Griffin Tax Free [Brighton] | Poor Customer Service » | 24/11/2009 | Total claims: 1 | Comments: 3 | |||||
I collected a new tax free vehicle (Dodge Journey 2.0 CRD SXT) from Griffin Tax Free, Brighton on 7 Sep 2009. On collecting the vehicle, I noticed that it did not have the Privacy windows that I paid an additional £260.87. Whilst walking around the vehicle, I also noticed that it had paintwork damage to the front passenger side wing. This was pointed out to the Sales Manager, Mr Grant Morrish before I drove the vehicle of their premises. After numerous e-mails and requests to be kept informed on what was happening with the repairs, I have only been told that they are still looking in to the matter. Almost 3 months after receiving the vehicle, nothing has been done to rectify the above points. I am a British soldier currently serving in Germany. http://www.griffintaxfree.com/

I've contacted clive from new addington (the guy i bought the car from) and told him what has happened and he said he would ring me back. I waited three hours for him to reply and now he is not answering my calls. Im so frustrated, this has got to be against some kind of law.

| 98 | Renault Coulsdon [surrey] | Friday afternoon car » | 16/11/2009 | Total claims: 1 | Comments: 1 | |||||
I found a car on the net with low milege estate car, for the family.Back in 16 .11.06.When i phoned up to view the car that was advertised with 2000ish on the clock they said yes come down.When i arrived low and behold the car was not there.!They did arrange a test drive with a renault Laguna sport tourer that was on the four court but not the car i was going to buy..Great all good.When the car did come in they arranged a test drive .But it had 7000 to 8000 on the clock.I drove it, there was a noise comming from the engine.I still liked the car so i agreed if they fix the issue i still buy it( silly me ).I picked the car up in November .December the car was back in the garage for investigation on the noise that was still there.Collected the car in January after Loads of different parts was renewed.Next step was going to be a whole new engine (yip he).Know they found the problem a petrol hose was rubbing so i got the car at last ...4 months later guess what the car was back in ..I think renauit have had my car more then i care to rember ..The latest on going problem is a fap filter that collects soot and keeps emmissions low..The car is surposed to be driven for 20mins above 50mph to clear when the warning lights come on But the car does not it goes to check injection which makes the car loose power .Very dangerouse if have to pull off from stationary at speed.ie.hard shoulder.Got a new fap filter which renault held there hands up or would of cost £600 ish..When the car does not regenerate itself .it has to be heated up to 1000c for about 3-4 hours by renault to have a forced regeneration ..Its happened 3 or 4 times to be forced as the car is not doing its job.Renault blame me and say the car is not for urban driving and motorway only.Today i took the car and they said £75 for diagnostic check.as check injection light on again .Itold them know the problem is this Fap filter.Any way renault have sold me a car with loads of problems .warranty runs out today they have my car to ransom as im not paying for diagnostic help..

| 73 | Ford UK [Brentwood] | Ford Kuga engine malfunction » | 14/11/2009 | Total claims: 1 | Comments: 2 | |||||
I bought a brand new Ford Kuga from MacRae and Dick Ford Dealership in Inverness Scotland. I live in Benbecula in the Western Isles of Scotland and to get to mainland Scotland I need to travel by ferry. I had the Ford Kuga from Mar until August until an engine malfunction red warning light came on. Ford roadside assistance arranged for the car to be collected and taken to Inverness. MacRae and Dick supposedly fixed the problem and they deliverd the car to the ferry port in Uig, Skye, but I had to pay the ferry costs to get it back to the island. However on 10 November the fault recurred and again Ford Assistance arranged for the car to be taken back to Inverness. This time the dealer told me that he fixed the problem but could not take it to the ferry port and that I would have to come out and collect it. This means travel costs and overnight accommodation. As I care for two elderly parents I cannot drop everything to go out for a night or sometimes 2 nights just to collect a vehicle from Inverness. When I complained to Ford all I got from them parrot fashion was we are not responsible for where you live. I replied that having paid £21000 (on the Ford equivalent finance to a PCP) for the car they should have ensured that I got goods fit for purpose and that would not cause me further financial hardship by travelling backwards and forwards to collect it from a dealer due to being sold a faulty vehicle. I got in touch with the dealer, who had promised to sort things out earlier but had not, they told me it would cost £100 to deliver the car to the ferry port. So far I have spent £164 on the car and each time it goes away it will cost a minimum of £132 to get it back assuming I don't have to collect it myself. I am certainly not confident that the problem will not recur as it appears to happen every 3 months approximately. Should this happen again can I stop the monthly payments and take action to recoup the money already paind?
