I use a laptop as my main computer in my house. i dropped & broke my laptop, I phoned Budget insurance not expecting any rral problems but was imediatley told that my laptop was not covered as they class it as a portable device, so i should have taken out an away from home policy even though i was not going to take it away from my house. Surely if I'm using my computer regardless of if its a laptop or desktop one it should be covered by home contents insurance if i have an accident with it in the home?.
