I called a taxi from Cresta at 8.10am, 12 Nov 2009, from my house 26 Signal Drive, Manchester, M40 8NU to Trafford Wharf Road. When I got into the taxi, the driver asked me 'which way I want to go'-as a taxi driver, he should know where he's going and it's no point to ask someone who doesn't drive and doesn't know the way at all. So I replied that I don't know, and let him choose the 'best way'. Then he went to Cheetham Hill and we got stuck in the traffic there about 10 mins, then he decided to change the route and got onto the macunian way, which was such a bad traffic there and we got stuck there for about another 10 or 15 mins. I didn't say a word to blame him for the traffic before he started talking- he said that I should leave early and shouldn't set off so late and rush him all the way! I got so angry, he deliberately went the wrong way and waste the time but he turned round to blame me for it! I am not calling a taxi for a rude driver who tells me what to do and what time I leave my house is none of his business! It should take about 20 mins to reach the destination, but it took me a well 45 mins; and taxi fare for this is £12.50, but I will claim a double amount on this and the taxi driver should take the consequence for his misbehaviour. I did contact Cresta-the taxi company to make a compliant, but the response I get is that they can only apologise with no refund to have money back. I am not happy about this at all and still quite angry with the way I have been treated by a taxi driver, so I am writing to you to see if there could be a different outcome.
Many Thanks for your assistance
Kind Regards
Cissie
